Conflict in congregational life is unique – it mixes organizational dynamics with personality, family history, conflict, theology and of course, faith. This combination creates both challenges and possibilities. This workshop provides church leaders with an opportunity to consider their role as leaders in this dynamic environment, providing practical tools and processes for engaging churches experiencing conflict, transforming tough situations into opportunities for both wisdom, courage and grace.

About Betty Pries

Betty Pries, PhD, MTS, C. Med. As Co-Founder and CEO at Credence & Co., Betty brings a wealth of experience to her work, having worked with a wide range of organizations, both nationally and internationally. Betty has extensive education and recently successfully defended her PhD thesis “Bridging the Self-Other Divide: Conflict Transformation and Contemplative Spirituality in Dialogue” on September 3, 2019 at the Vrij Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam.

With over 20 years’ experience coaching, mediating, facilitating, training, consulting and public speaking, Betty is highly regarded as a Conflict, Change and Leadership Specialist. Driven by her desire to enhance the health and vitality of organizations and their leaders, Betty specializes in working with complex challenges, transforming workplaces and congregations through custom-designed support and engagement.

Betty’s capacity to care deeply for her clients, to listen well and to provide wise, thoughtful support allows her to help her clients set a direction for meaningful and important conversations resulting in positive change.Betty is a Chartered Mediator with the ADR Institute of Canada and a member of the ADR Institute of Ontario. Outside of her work with Credence & Co., Betty is a regular instructor at the University of Waterloo.
