Living in Liminal Spaces

  • Princeton Theological Seminary 64 Mercer Street Princeton, NJ, 08540 United States (map)

After the busy Easter season, you’ve earned a break. We invite you to come and take that break with us! Iron Sharpening Iron is offering a 28-hour program designed to reinvigorate your mind, body, and spirit.

Lunch & Learn Panels: Feed your mind and body.

Lunch will be catered by Margo Carner of Fridge2Table.

Panel discussions will feature Rev. Pam Driesell, Rev. Julie Pennington-Russell, and Rev. Melanie Marsh, addressing some of the deepest questions women bring to us each year: How do I create healthy boundaries? How do I navigate transitions well?

Both panels will be live-streamed for virtual participation.

Embodied Faith Workshops: Move and be moved.

So many of us move through the world as if our bodies are just carriers for our brains. But our bodies hold our stories, our memories, our convictions, our questions, and our doubts, and they are integral to our experience of faith. In this movement-based workshop, spiritual director Annalise Hume will guide you through exercises that invite hospitality and attentiveness toward your body, which might be helpful as you begin processing what you’ve experienced at our gathering. Note: while you will be invited to move your body, no prior movement experience is necessary. This workshop has been designed for all abilities and disabilities.

Sessions will take place Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.

Worship (That You Don’t Lead) Relax. This one is for you.

Tuesday morning will include a worship service facilitated by Rev. Pam Driesell and our panelists. This is an invitation to sit back and be part of the service—not planning or leading—just participating.

Your Downtime, Your Way: So many options. You decide what you need.

If in-between sessions all you want to do is walk to a local coffee shop and read—you got it!

If you’d like to take the time to be outside and connect with nature—you got it!

If you’d like to get in a session or two of yoga—you got it!

You can also explore downtown Princeton, walk through the Seminary or University campuses, or introvert in your hotel room binge-watching your favorite show. That’s the beauty of this time: It is yours to decide.
