The Moral Injury Certificate Program is a 10-week, online course from Brite Divinity School. The course offers an interdisciplinary introduction to moral injury and strategies for recovery and care.
Details: Drawing on insights from spiritual care, social work, psychology, mental health, religion, and the arts, the program explores how moral injury can affect individuals and communities in contexts ranging from healthcare and faith communities to systemic injustice.
Participants will learn to recognize moral injury and its risk factors, explore practices that support recovery and moral resilience, and develop skills for peer-based approaches to care. The course combines recorded lectures and readings with live discussions, practical training sessions, and an integrative capstone project.
This is a non-clinical program centred on peer learning and collective approaches to moral injury care. Participants should plan for approximately five hours of course engagement each week and must be available for required live sessions.
A Certificate of Completion is available to participants who fulfill all program requirements. An option offering 30 continuing education hours in chaplaincy or social work is also available.

Cost: Sliding scale of $800–$1,000 without CE hours or $850–$1,050 with 30 CE hours
Scholarships: Limited $100 registration discounts are available for eligible BIPOC caregivers and applicants requiring financial support. Scholarship applications are due July 30, 2026.
