The North American Academy of Ecumenists will hold its 2025 Annual Conference, In Necessities, Unity, from November 20–21, 2025, at Hellenic College Holy Cross in Brookline, MA. The conference theme marks the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea and the 100th anniversary of the World Conference on Life and Work. It will explore historic and contemporary challenges to Christian unity, including recent ecumenical gains and emerging divisions shaped by political as well as ecclesial boundaries.
The program includes keynote addresses, panel discussions, and scholarly paper presentations addressing theological, historical, pastoral, and social dimensions of unity. Topics range from ritual diversity and ecumenical engagement to political polarization, eco-justice, and youth involvement in unity work. The event also features times of worship, networking receptions, and opportunities for dialogue among ecumenical leaders.
