Reconciliation Studies 2025 Learning Tour – Treaty 1 Territory, Winnipeg

Dates: May 22 – June 1, 2025 (10 days)
Cost: $1,150 (does not include travel to Winnipeg)

The Centre for Reconciliation Studies invites participants to a 10-day immersive learning tour in Treaty 1 Territory, Winnipeg, designed as part of the Certificate in Reconciliation Studies (CRS) program. This program, offered by SSU, can be taken independently or integrated into a master’s degree. It equips participants to engage in the ongoing process of reconciliation, inspired by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, preparing them to incorporate these practices into their personal and professional lives.

During the tour, participants will meet Indigenous elders, knowledge-keepers, activists, academics, artists, and settler allies who are actively involved in community-based work for cultural revitalization, social justice, and fostering right relations between Indigenous and settler peoples.

This transformative experience is designed to address the need for quality preparation in reconciling relationships, particularly within the Canadian context. The tour’s curriculum is developed in collaboration with Indigenous faculty, neighbors, and friends, ensuring a respectful, enriching, and authentic approach to reconciliation.
