1 Tip to Stay On Top of Too Much Content.
In the fast-paced world of ministry, staying informed and inspired can be challenging. Articles and resources can easily pile up, making it hard to keep up. For me, the summer is the time I catch up on reading articles, I try to keep up during the year but it often becomes challenging.
Here’s my process for staying on top of content that I WANT to read through, but don’t always have the time on a weekly basis for.
Step 1: Quick Scan
When a newsletter arrives in your inbox, quickly scan the titles and summaries for articles that catch your eye.
Mark or flag the ones that seem particularly relevant or interesting.
Step 2: Use Email Folders
Create dedicated folders in your email account for different topics or sources.
Example: “Digital Tools” “Community Engagement,” “Youth Ministry.”
Flag and Move:
Flag the articles you want to revisit and move them to the appropriate folder.
If an article is sent to a different email, forward it to your primary account and file it accordingly.
Step 3 Review Your Folders Regularly
Dedicate a specific time each week/month/season to go through your saved articles.
Reflect on how the articles can inform your ministry practices and share key takeaways with your team - p.s. you can ALWAYS send resources and articles to Ministry Forum (we love sharing things with the community).
