Advent & Christmas Social Posts Based on The Lectionary
Every so often, Ministry Forum gathers a set of social media posts that congregations and ministry leaders are welcome to use across their own channels. In previous years, we’ve highlighted a mix of free and paid tools that help churches create seasonal graphics, devotionals, and worship visuals. Many of those resources continue to serve congregations well.
For this Advent and Christmas season, a different approach felt like it might be helpful. We’ve put together a simple collection of graphics (small “doodles,” really) created to accompany the Revised Common Lectionary readings for each week from now through December 27th. These images are intentionally simple: easy to share, easy to adapt, and meant especially for those who might be juggling many pieces of ministry planning during a busy season. Use one, use a few, use all of them - whatever works best for your context.
All of the graphics are provided in PNG format and gathered in a Dropbox folder here ready for download. For those who would like to make small changes (whether adjusting wording, colours, or adding a congregational logo) you can find the Canva file link here. The goal is simply to offer a starting point - something quick, flexible, and easy to use for any ministry leaders needing a bit of support as Advent and Christmas draw near.
Alongside the images, there is also a full set of suggested captions. These can be used as written, or adapted to the voice and context of each congregation. The hope is that these resources will ease the planning load and maybe spark some creativity.
All materials are attached below. May they serve as gentle companions as congregations prepare to welcome Christ’s light once again!
