Becoming Intercultural - Online Learning Cohort from the PCC
We’re always eager to spotlight the good work happening across the wider church, and today, we’re highlighting an exciting initiative from the Intercultural Office of The Presbyterian Church in Canada.
In February 2026, the PCC’s Intercultural Office will launch Becoming Intercultural, the first in a new three-part online learning series designed to help participants grow in intercultural awareness and engagement. This 8-module course This 8-module course introduces key concepts like cultural humility, unconscious bias, and intercultural communication. The material is grounded in a theological framework and supported by stories, reflection questions, and practical tools.
Developed by the Rev. Dr. Pablo Kim Sun and his colleague Priya., their hope is to create space for meaningful, generative conversations across cultural differences within congregations and communities across Canada.
Here is what Pablo says about the initiative:
Priya and I have worked extensively on this learning opportunity, moving through three stages of development: the pre-pre-pilot, the pre-pilot, and the pilot phase (with Assembly Council members). We trust that both the content and the learning platform will serve you and your communities well. At the same time, this is designed as an entry-level learning experience. For some, it may feel basic, and it is possible you may not agree with everything—and that’s okay. Our hope is that this offering will deepen reflection on intercultural engagement and provide resources, tools, and space for meaningful and generative conversation.
If you or others in your church are beginning to explore intercultural ministry—or want to revisit the foundations—this could be a valuable opportunity. We encourage you to learn more and consider joining or sharing it with your networks.
