Earthbound Faith: Podcast, Book, and Retreat with Rev. Dr. Grace Ji-Sun Kim

This week on the Ministry Forum Podcast, we’re joined by Rev. Dr. Grace Ji-Sun Kim for a conversation about climate justice, theology, water, suffering, connection, and the ways creation care touches every part of ministry.

In our conversation, Grace reflects on her newest book, Earthbound: God at the Intersection of Climate and Justice, and invites ministry leaders to think more deeply about how environmental concerns are connected to discipleship, pastoral ministry, worship, justice, and community life. Along the way, she introduces Korean theological concepts like han and jeong, offering language for suffering, interconnectedness, and the kind of love that binds people together across difference and hardship.

We were especially grateful to record this conversation live at Crieff Hills Retreat Centre this spring while Grace was leading a day-long retreat on another of her recent books. Because of that, we also have a full video version of the conversation available alongside the podcast episode.

If you haven’t listened yet, we’d encourage you to start there:

Then, this August, Grace will be returning to Crieff Hills for the Earthbound: Climate Justice Retreat.

Hosted in partnership with Crieff Hills Retreat Centre, the weekend will explore eco-theology, climate justice, spiritual practice, and organic farming in a retreat setting designed to help participants slow down, learn together, and reconnect with creation in meaningful ways.
