Knox Counselling Centre

As a part of Knox College’s commitment to serving the Church and the wider community, we are delighted to share the news of the soft launch of our Knox Counselling Centre.

Through this Centre, our Master of Psychospiritual Studies (MPS) student clinical interns will gain real experience to prepare themselves for future careers as therapists. The Centre will be offering FREE virtual counselling for University of Toronto students.

It is hoped that Presbyterian Church in Canada ministry leaders and congregation members might take advantage of this opportunity as well - while it won’t be free, the Centre does offer a very affordable sliding scale that is considerably less than typical fees.

For the sake of clarity, we would remind you that psychotherapy services are often covered by many extended insurance benefit plans. However, the extent of this coverage varies depending on the provider and individual plan. It's essential to consult with your insurance provider directly to confirm the details of your coverage before beginning any psychotherapy services. Upon payment for the services, you will receive a receipt. This receipt will state that the psychotherapy was provided by an intern counsellour under the supervision of a Registered Psychotherapist.

As someone who has benefited greatly from utilizing counselling services over the years, I’d encourage you to consider reaching out for such resources as you are able and not just when you find yourself in a crisis.

Knowing more about yourself is key in living a whole and healthy life.
