Worship 101 with Anne Miller

We’ve had the privilege of working alongside Anne Miller over the past few months as she prepared to launch her newest resource for lay preachers and worship leaders: Worship 101: A Guide to Planning and Leading (out now!!).

Anne brings more than 25 years of experience in Christian education and congregational ministry, and she’s someone who understands firsthand the unique joys and challenges of preparing worship in small churches, rural congregations, and intergenerational settings.

In working with Anne, it’s clear how deeply passionate she is about creating resources that help people find their unique voice and style as a preacher. Her goal is to empower leaders to enter the planning process with clarity, prayerfulness, and confidence. Even in our conversations about the cover art, Anne spoke about the table as a place of welcome. She wanted it to be clear — visually and spiritually — that everyone is invited into this great work of worship. That spirit of invitation runs through every page of the guide!

Worship 101 was created as a resource for lay leaders stepping into worship leadership for the first time or looking for a more intentional rhythm to their planning.

Inside the workbook you’ll find:

  • Helpful prompts for Scripture, prayer, and music selection

  • Tips for engaging people of all ages

  • Planning templates, checklists, and reflection spaces

  • A focus on collaboration, clarity, and care

Through her platform, Seeds of Grace Resources, Anne has been equipping churches, families, and ministry leaders with tools that are thoughtful, usable, and theologically rich and this workbook is meant to exist alongside many of these resources.

We’re so pleased to be hosting Worship 101 as a free digital download through the Ministry Forum Resource Hub. It’s designed to be printer-friendly and easy to use, with simple visual elements that carry through Anne’s heart for hospitality and inclusion.

AND Anne has also just released several Advent resources through Seeds of Grace, for congregations and households preparing for the season. You can explore those at seedsofgraceresources.ca.
