Church Training Center
Church Training Center provides coaching, consulting, training, and financial leadership support for churches seeking to strengthen governance, leadership, and organizational health. Its work focuses on helping pastors, councils, treasurers, and lay leaders develop the structures, financial practices, and decision-making processes needed to support a congregation's mission.
The organization emphasizes the connection between spiritual discernment and organizational leadership, encouraging churches to align governance, finances, and ministry priorities with their sense of calling. Rather than addressing governance and financial management as separate tasks, Church Training Center integrates them into a broader approach to congregational leadership and stewardship.
Services include:
Governance training for church councils and leadership teams
Coaching and consulting for pastors and church leaders
Treasurer training and financial leadership development
Budgeting and financial stewardship support
Guidance on board roles, responsibilities, and decision-making
Organizational assessments and ministry planning
Church procedures and financial systems reviews
Church Training Center also offers resources for congregations working through common leadership challenges, including governance structure, volunteer engagement, financial oversight, deferred maintenance, and strategic planning. Training is designed to equip both clergy and lay leaders with practical tools that are often outside the scope of traditional theological education.
The organization is led by Keith Clark-Hoyos, a consultant and former Executive Associate Conference Minister in the United Church of Christ, whose work draws on extensive experience supporting congregations in governance, financial leadership, and organizational development. Through consulting, books, cohorts, retreats, and coaching, Church Training Center works with churches to strengthen leadership practices and organizational systems that support long-term ministry.
