Kairos
KAIROS: Canadian Ecumenical Justice Initiatives, is an organization that unites Canadian churches and religious organizations in an ecumenical response to the biblical call for justice, kindness, and humility, as outlined in Micah 6:8. Through a deep-rooted Christian identity, KAIROS works with partners worldwide, including Indigenous, migrant, and diaspora communities, to advocate for social and ecological justice. The strategic plan for 2016-2020 outlines priorities such as reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, ecological integrity through watershed protection, and justice for migrants. The plan also emphasizes the integration of gender justice and racial justice across its programs, and highlights cross-cutting initiatives like the Women of Courage Program, which supports women human rights defenders globally. By fostering a continuum of social change, KAIROS connects various stakeholders to enhance advocacy, education, and grassroots actions. KAIROS is committed to strengthening ecumenical movements by building relationships within and beyond its member churches, focusing on diverse communities and innovative strategies for broadening outreach.
