Lester Randall Preaching Fellowship
The Lester Randall Preaching Fellowship (LRPF) is a tribute to the leadership and vision of three remarkable figures from Yorkminster Park Church. The fellowship honors:
Rev. Dr. John N. Gladstone: Senior minister from 1965-1991, who envisioned a permanent fellowship to celebrate and exalt the ministry of preaching.
Gerard H. Collins: Believed in Gladstone’s vision and generously funded the initiative.
Lester C. Randall: An outstanding layman whose contributions to the congregation and wider church community inspired the fellowship’s name.
History and Development
The inaugural Lester C. Randall Preaching Fellowship took place in the fall of 1987 with Rev. Dr. A. Leonard Griffith as the guest lecturer and preacher. Over the past 25 years, LRPF has hosted some of the finest preachers and teachers, making significant contributions to the field of preaching.
In 2012, the LRPF organizing committee decided to reformat the event to better address the evolving needs of ordained clergy and their congregations. No conference was held that year, allowing time to expand the committee to include clergy from various denominations and align with seminaries across Canada and the United States.
Current Offerings
Starting in 2013, the fellowship introduced a more dynamic program that includes:
Keynote Speakers: Featuring renowned preachers and scholars.
Workshops: Interactive sessions designed to enhance preaching skills.
Private and Public Events: Opportunities for both intimate and large-scale learning experiences.
Interactive Lectures: Engaging presentations that foster active participation.
