Narratives of Hope and Possibility– PCC Toolkit
The Narrative of Hope and Possibility initiative by The Presbyterian Church in Canada is progressing with a working group of up to 20 members, representing diverse backgrounds and ministries. Their goal is to gather and share stories that highlight renewal and transformation within the church, especially in uncertain times. This initiative emphasizes the church’s core message of God’s love, forgiveness, and peace through Jesus Christ.
An update on the group's work will be presented at the 2025 General Assembly. In the meantime, the Narratives of Hope and Possibility Toolkit is designed to assist congregations and groups in facilitating their own workshops centered on themes of hope and transformation. Developed under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Patricia Dutcher-Walls, the moderator of the 2024 General Assembly, this resource includes an online workshop titled "Biblical Foundations for Narratives of Hope," which explores biblical stories that inspire contemporary narratives of hope. Watch the workshop here.
The toolkit provides a comprehensive "How To" video, offering step-by-step instructions on organizing and conducting the workshop. This ensures that participants can effectively engage with the material and foster meaningful discussions within their communities. By utilizing this toolkit, groups are empowered to explore and share stories that reflect renewal and transformation within the church, reinforcing the denomination's commitment to a hopeful and faith-driven future.
