Proclamation Project from Disciples of Christ Church
The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) offers a variety of preaching resources through their Proclamation Project, designed to support and equip preachers within the denomination.
Sermon Series Materials: Resources like a sermon outline for New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day, based on Isaiah 63:7-9 and Isaiah 43:19, and Everyday Prayerbook, focusing on the Psalms, provide scriptural reflections, sermon starters, liturgy suggestions, poetry, and visual art.
Panel Discussions: Preaching These Days features a conversation among local Disciples preachers about sermon preparation, current challenges, and resource recommendations.
Retreats and Events: Attend the next Disciples Preaching Retreat, November 10-12, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Subscribe to For the Messengers, a monthly email, to be notified when registration opens. Listen to the Disciples Preaching Retreat, held in October 2024 to hear keynotes and sermons from various speakers.
Educational Workshops: Sessions like Preaching in the Age of Chatbots address contemporary topics, such as integrating artificial intelligence into preaching.
Generosity Resources: Living Generously, developed with the Center for Faith and Giving, offers materials for preaching on generosity, including focus texts and sermon outlines.
Proclamation Project also provides cohort groups for preachers to connect for collegiality and support, and offers small grants for bivocational ministers to aid in their preaching development. These resources are adaptable to various ministry contexts and are continually updated to support Disciples preachers in their proclamation efforts.
