Retirement Roadmap
The CRC Retirement Roadmap, titled Retirement from Pastoral Ministry: Guidance for a Healthy Transition, is a curated collection of blog articles designed to support pastors as they move from full-time ministry into retirement. Developed through Thrive (formerly Pastor Church Resources), this resource brings together theological reflection, practical planning guidance, and lived experience from pastors who have navigated this transition.
The Roadmap is organized as a series of articles that can be read individually or as a complete pathway. Together, they address the internal, relational, logistical, and vocational dimensions of retirement from ministry.
While rooted in the CRC context, much of the guidance particularly around discernment, communication, emotional health, financial planning, and identity translates readily across denominational settings.
