Season 4 Coming Soon!

We’re back with Season Four of the Ministry Forum Podcast, designed to move with the rhythm of your ministry life.

This fall, we’re diving into fresh conversations with returning voices like Laura Alary—author, storyteller, and Knox College colleague—whose new books promise rich inspiration. We’ll also hear from Mennonite congregations living out a 1% spiritual covenant, offering reparation payments to Indigenous ministries—a model of faith in action. Expect thoughtful dialogue with the Reverend Dr. Stuart Macdonald on tradition and change, and stories of transformation from our preaching retreats with Sarah Travis. It’s all part of a season meant to ground you, stretch you, and remind you: you’re not alone in this work.

[John Borthwick]

The Ministry Forum community. John Borthwick, here you're now permanent director of the Center for Lifelong Learning at Knox College and curator of all things ministry forum. I've got some exciting news. We're back for Season Four. And yes, I can hear some of you saying, Wait, didn't John just start this thing? How are we already at Season Four?

Well, here's the thing. We designed this podcast to fit your ministry rhythm. We run September to early December. We take a little break so you can catch up over the holidays, and then we return in January and run all the way through to Holy Week. Then, we are back in May through June, real seasons that work with your real life.

And so here we are. Season Four is launching on Tuesday, September 23! Now, what's coming your way? Well, we are kicking off with a returning favorite, Laura Alary, author, storyteller and my brilliant colleague from Knox College. Laura has five books releasing this year, and we're diving into two of her newest. Trust me, every conversation with Laura is pure gold. I think you're going to want to get your hands on these books as soon as possible.

We've also got some powerful conversations lined up, including an incredible discussion with some Mennonite congregations who've committed to the 1% Spiritual Covenant, providing reparation payments for indigenous organizations and ministries. Adrian Jacobs was our keynote speaker at the Creative Ways conference back in June. And hearing about these folks who've devoted themselves to this kind of commitment, it's deeply moving. It's inspirational, and it's hopefully something that might catch on in other denominations as well.

Now we're also going to sit down with the recently retired Reverend, Dr. Stuart MacDonald from Knox College about his newest book, Tradition and Tension. We're also going to gather some voices from the Preaching Collective's weekend retreats to hear about their transformative experiences with the Reverend, Dr. Sarah Travis, and that's just the beginning.

Here's now how you can help: we appreciate you and love that you are a listener of the Ministry Forum Podcast, but we'd love more people to hear what we've got in store for them this year and some of our past seasons as well. Like and review the Ministry Forum Podcast, wherever you listen. It's really the best way to help other ministry leaders, just like you, find us. If there's someone you think we should be interviewing, please reach out to us. We'd love to discover some new voices and share them with this incredible community that we get to serve. We'll be back in your ears on September 23 until then, remember, you are not alone as you answer the call to serve in ministry.
