New Season Starts September 8, 2026!
A new season of the Ministry Forum podcast is almost here.
Over the next few months, we'll be sitting down with preachers, ministry leaders, practitioners, and thoughtful voices from across the Church to explore some of the questions shaping ministry today. We'll talk about preaching, global hunger, transitional ministry, Indigenous reconciliation, burnout, and the everyday realities of leading communities of faith in Canada.
Some conversations will introduce you to new ideas. Others might simply remind you that you're not alone. Season 7 begins September 8th. We can't wait to share it with you!

Ministry Forum audience, it's the Reverend John Borthwick, director of the Center for Lifelong Learning at Knox College, and curator of a little something called MinistryForum.ca. And if you're listening to this podcast teaser for the very first time, or if this this is where you've dropped in because it was incredibly short. Welcome, welcome! We're so glad that you're joining us. Maybe you're looking forward to season seven because we are of the Ministry Forum podcast. Season seven, we've got some great guests that are coming on.
We have a conversation with the Reverend Dr. Michael Brooks, the award winner of the Paul Scott Wilson Award from the Lester Randall Preaching Fellowship. Ministry Forum, actually sponsors that award, and we're big fans of the Lester Randall, and if you haven't heard of it, check it out on our website. It's a great opportunity to hang out with preachers and hear some amazing preaching and be a part of workshops and conversation. And it's a great sort of intimate event that happens in Toronto. Typically, not more than about 250 people. And who knows? You might actually get to sit beside and have lunch with maybe one of the people you've been following as you've been a preacher in the practice of preaching for some time.
We've got another conversation with the executive director of the Canadian Food Grains Bank, this was an amazing outreach that happened to us, where someone asked if we would have an interview with Andy Harrington, and it was an amazing conversation. He is quite some kind of guy, and so you'll be interested, I think, to listen to that as we were interested to be in conversation with him.
We also have our typical recasts where we're talking transitional ministry recasting a webinar we did, a conversation that was had around indigenous reconciliation and land development and stuff like that with our good friends from the Reimagine Conference that happens annually or has been happening annually for the last couple years, and we've been supporting that as well.
And then I did this thing where this summer I had some stuff from some things that I had done from the past related to burnout and compassion fatigue and stress, trauma, all those kinds of things. And I just thought, you know what, I'd love to be in conversation with you, the listeners, about some stuff that I'm really passionate about, and so I'm hoping it's helpful. I'm hoping it's packaged in such a way that it's meaningful. It's not too heavy in some ways. It encourages you to go deeper if you want to, but it also tells a bit of my story - If you've not heard it before - of ministry and burnout and all that kind of experience. So I'm really looking forward to it being released. It'll be released in November of this year as a essentially it's a six parter, but we're gonna because of the size of some of them, we're probably gonna just drop it as like two episodes a week, so that you can sort of also build some momentum, if you can.
And as always, as we always say at the Ministry Forum podcast, if you don't catch all of this at this time, we make we have some good times where we have these long breaks, so you can catch up a little bit.
And so we hope you check it out. Season seven of the Ministry Forum podcast will be dropping in your ears on September the 8th, and we'll be doing that weekly all the way until the end of November.
