Reviving Prayer and Bible Study in Our Churches—We Need Your Voice
The Struggle: When Prayer and Bible Study Feel Like a Luxury
Most of us got into ministry because we love God and want to help others grow in faith. But in the day-to-day reality of ministry, prayer and Bible study can sometimes feel like just one more thing on the to-do list.
Maybe you feel that way yourself.
Maybe you see it in your congregation—people hungry for deeper faith but unsure where to start.
Or maybe you know lay leaders who want to step up but feel unqualified to lead a Bible study or prayer group.
Here’s what we know: when pastors and leaders are spiritually nourished, the whole church benefits. Strong personal rhythms of prayer and scripture don’t just help us—they shape our preaching, our leadership, and our ability to guide others.
We believe this initiative could help reignite a passion for prayer and scripture in our churches.
You’re not alone if you’ve ever felt:
Stretched thin in ministry, leaving little time for personal prayer and study
Unsure how to equip lay leaders to lead Bible studies or prayer groups
Discouraged by the decline in participation in Bible studies within your church
We’re hearing these concerns from Christian leaders across Canada. We also believe there’s a way forward—together. That’s why (through our listening initiative) we are exploring a what a fresh approach to prayer and Bible Study could look like —a way to help leaders and congregations strengthen these essential practices.
But before we move forward, we need your input.
Would you take a few moments to fill out our survey or join a listening session? We want to hear your experiences, challenges, and hopes—so that whatever we build actually meets real needs.
How Ministry Forum Could Help
We’re exploring ways to make Bible study and prayer more accessible, sustainable, and impactful for leaders and congregations across Canada. Imagine if:
More churches had vibrant, thriving Bible study groups—in-person, online, or hybrid.
Pastors and lay leaders had access to training, mentorship, and guided resources to help them lead with confidence.
A network of facilitators helped make learning engaging and interactive, not just academic.
Churches had access to practical workshops, retreats, and e-learning tools to deepen faith and discipleship.
This isn’t just about adding another program—it’s about helping leaders and churches create rhythms of spiritual growth that truly last.
Why We Need Your Voice
This initiative is still taking shape—and we don’t want to assume we know exactly what’s needed. That’s why your input is essential. At the heart of all this is a simple truth: we were never meant to do ministry alone. Let’s work together to create something that truly supports and strengthens our churches. Let’s renew our commitment to scripture and prayer—not just for ourselves, but for the generations to come.
Will you join us in shaping this vision?
