The Preaching Collective Weekly is back - Sept. 18th
Sunday’s always coming.
And for those of us preparing sermons that reality is both a joy and a pressure.
If you’ve ever found yourself staring at a blank page, wondering how to begin, or wished you had someone to talk through a tricky passage with, you’re not alone. The Preaching Collective Weekly is here for exactly that reason.
Starting September 18th, this open gathering is a space for anyone preparing to preach—whether you’re lay or ordained, seasoned or brand new—to reflect together on the Revised Common Lectionary texts for the coming Sunday. Come every week, once a month, or just when you need a spark of insight or encouragement.
We’ll read the text. We’ll ask questions. We’ll wonder about analogies and how a passage might land in different contexts. We’ll wrestle with ideas and celebrate discoveries. And through it all, we’ll remind each other that while you may preach the sermon alone, you don’t have to prepare it alone.
Facilitated by Rev. Dr. Sarah Travis, and shaped by the Reforming Preaching Initiative at Knox College, these sessions are all about presence and process . All all welcome!
