Sabbath Practices Toolkit

This from our friends at the PCUSA created this toolkit to help churches and families embrace Sabbath not just as a day off but as a formative way of being in the world. Built around five core practices—prayer, storytelling, hospitality, service, and retreat—the toolkit equips ministry leaders to lead people of all ages into rhythms that reflect God’s heart for rest, renewal, and community.

The kit offers studies and ministry kits tailored for children, youth, adults, households, intergenerational settings, and seasonal church life. It’s adaptable for both small groups and individual reflection, and includes step-by-step guides, discussion questions, and action ideas. Short videos featuring author Traci Smith help introduce each practice in accessible ways.
