Taizé
If you’ve ever longed for a slower, quieter rhythm of worship, Taizé offers a beautiful doorway into that experience. Founded in 1940 by Brother Roger in Taizé, France, this ecumenical community of about eighty brothers—Catholic, Anglican, and Protestant—embodies reconciliation and shared devotion. Every year, thousands of young adults travel to Taizé for prayer and reflection, yet the community’s spirit reaches far beyond its hilltop home through its digital presence.
The Taizé website provides daily Scripture readings and short meditations written by Brother Matthew, one of the community’s brothers who leads many of the prayers. These daily posts invite quiet reflection on Scripture and life, helping individuals or groups practice centering prayer in simple, accessible ways.
Every Saturday evening, the Taizé brothers stream a live video prayer at 8:30 p.m. CEST (UTC+2), available afterward for replay—an easy rhythm to build into your week. The site also hosts articles on prayer practices, helping newcomers learn how to enter meditative silence, pray through music, or lead a Taizé-inspired service.
