Nurturing Church Staff Teams

This is a self-paced, collaborative learning resource from the Toronto United Church Council, hosted on ChurchX. Designed for church teams of all sizes and configurations, the course provides structured content to help staff grow together in communication, self-awareness, and mutual support. Whether your church has a full-time team or part-time staff working across different ministries, this course creates space for shared growth.

The course includes 18 short video sessions and 6–12 hours of content that teams can work through together over time. Each section encourages reflection on team roles, communication habits, and the relational patterns that shape how work gets done in a ministry environment. Special attention is given to giving and receiving feedback well, managing conflict before it becomes damaging, and understanding the strengths each person brings. The course is explicitly designed for staff of all types, including ministers, musicians, administrators, youth leaders, and custodians, with language that makes all roles feel valued.

Teams are encouraged to meet regularly to reflect on content, engage in guided conversations, and set goals for how they want to function together going forward. It is particularly well-suited to churches that have experienced transition, grown in complexity, or sensed that staff relationships need intentional attention.

The course is available for $100 CAD.
